Edgar Lau Announced Teammate for Alliegro Captures a strong 2nd Place at Thunderhill Raceway Park

Lau Sits in Rnd. 2 of USTCC for Alliegro and Captures 2nd Place in the GT Class

Napa, CA– August 8, 2020 – AR-G Motorsports announces Edgar Lau, 2019 USTCC SP class champion takes 2nd Place in GT class while Alliegro was not able to attend this weekend. Lau had short notice on Friday to take over the #19 BMW M3 and quickly got to work with sorting the car out for the race. Most of the weekend was spent ironing out mechanical and electrical gremlins with Lau also doubling as race engineer for the car. But it all came together in qualifying on Sunday putting Lau 3rd on the grid. 2nd place starter Rob Harper was not able to make the start moving Lau into the front row of the grid where he secured the 2nd place position to the checkered flag.

Qualifying

Lau was still coming up to speed when he qualified the #19 BMW M3 3rd in class in traffic on Sunday morning putting him in 2nd row for the start.

Race

Lau moved up a spot for the race start as Rob Harper, 2nd place starter failed to make the grid in time for the formation lap. Although a solid standing start from Lau, the speed the BAF Racing Corvette possessed was still too much for the #19 car to match. Lau had to settle for 2nd place but it would also allow the driver duo of Alliegro and Lau to close in on championship points.

Edgar Lau, Driver #19 AR-G Motorsports BMW M3

“We had a few things to work on the car coming off of the weekend at Buttonwillow but thankfully everything was sorted by qualifying. I think we could’ve extracted more speed out of the car if we had more time this weekend and potentially pester Memo for the win. But we still have to be content to be taking points away from the guys ahead in points this weekend. We’re still at round 2 and there is more to come from us.”
